[Link] | I'm just sitting here outside my patient's room waiting for the night to be over. Work was alright tonight. Not too slow but not too busy which was nice for a change! I got suckered into going out to breakfast with the girls this morning...even though I'm back to work tonight. But just one more night and then I have a week off! Yes!!! I am seriously not doing anything productive! Well I'm house/dog sitting for my parents while they're in Las Vegas until Sunday. Saturday there's a football game at G-Dale (playoff game) but unfortunately the kids aren't marching because it's part of a four day weekend and not many of the kids can make it so they're just playing pep band. But I'm still going to go to hang out with the band and Tom. Should be fun! Hopefully it's not too cold or anything! I'm also going to be at home on Sunday for the Trick-or-Treaters. Hopefully they're be some cool costumes! Wednesday night (Halloween) some of the girls from work and I are going out somewhere downtown for Halloween...yeah I still have to get a costume for that! Hopefully there are some good ones left. The only thing is I don't feel like spending tons of money on a costume I'm only going to wear once. Maybe I'll wear one of the ones I have from past years....hmmm we'll see. Next week I also have to pack because I'm moving in a few weeks! Yay! I'm getting internet hooked up and hopefully buying a new labtop. I don't feel like lugging my big old computer with me. I've had that one since I started college and Marquette dorms did something weird to it so I can't access some sites without my MU library number but surprise mine doesn't work cause I'm not a student there anymore. So perhaps a brand new ceomputer would best! Ugh still a half hour left of work! Oh well. I'm getting hungry so hopefully this last half hour goes quickly. Well I have one more lab to draw off my kiddo and then I should be pretty set!

[Link] | Yay work. Right now I'm actually not on my unit though (which is the peds ICU) I'm actually on the 4th floor (which is the intermediate ICU) You see my unit only has 15 out of 30 beds occupied by patients and seen as they can't have more nurses than patients they had to float some of us. And I'm ok with that. I got offered the NICU and the 4th floor...I've been to the NICU before so I thought it might be fun to try 4. It's pretty cool...it's weird only doing vitals and assessments every 4 hours rather than every 1 as we do in the PICU but it's nice for a change. And I have one of the kiddos that I actually had when she was down in the PICU so that's kind of fun to see how she's progressing! So it's been a nice sort of night...and the other nurses here are really cool and nice too so that always helps! Anyways, life's been pretty busy lately. Between coaching colorguard, working, trying to fit in time with Matt, and then having to (unfortunately) try to get an adequate amount of sleep per night I've found myself really not having a lot of "me" time lately. Ok actually that would be I haven't had any "me" time at all since hmm I think the middle of August. After band camp started it was all downhill from there. Not that I'm really complaining, because I love all the stuff like teaching colorguard and whatnot but my mental status is getting a little run down. Yeah I'm a little stressed (and praying that I don't end up getting sick!) The lack of sleep and busy schedule is kind of starting to get to me. Ask the people I've been short with - which again I apologize! They'll tell you I'm just not myself. The kind of sucky thing is that the actual marching band competitions haven't even started!! Here will by my schedule come the end of September through October: Monday night - work; Tuesday - sleep during day after work, go to Spanish for Nursing class, go directly to teach colorguard until 9, sleep; Wednesday night - work; Thursday night - work; Friday - sleep after night of work then possibly teach colorguard at a football game (if I'm lucky this is my night off!); Saturday - marching band competition all day; Sunday - Marching band competition all day; AND repeat. So yeah that'll be fun. Don't exactly plan on getting ahold of me. I expect to be completely anti social. Yay. Don't worry though I'll try to be back to my old self ASAP. Matt and I are going to take a little mini vacation in November so I can hopefully relax and unwind from my whirlwind few months. I can't wait! Ok well back to work!

[Link] | I don't think I've ever been more tired in my life. Seriously. Yesterday night when I went to bed (which was 9 PM by the way) I figured out that I had been awake for over 34 hours. Yikes. Yeah I was a little delirous at that time. I don't remember a lot of the stuff I had to do yesterday which is surprising because I had to teach colorgaurd. The reason I'm so tired - I've been going back and forth between teaching colorguard at their band camp and then working at Children's - with not a lot of sleep in between. So I'm exhausted. Band camp runs all this week every day from 9-3 and then I worked Monday night, tonight, and I also work tomorrow night (well now I guess it's considered "tonight") I'm leaving band camp early tomorrow so I can get a little bit more sleep. Honestly I feel like if I keep going like this I'm going to get sick or something! Oh well I guess. Next week I only work on Monday and Wednesday so teaching band camp then shouldn't be a big deal. Plus the kids don't have all day rehearsal on Tuesday - just their normal night rehearsal (yay!) This weekend I have absolutely nothing to do which is awesome! I am going to sit around and do nothing! Well I have to do laundry because I'm running out of scrubs and colorguard practice clothes because I haven't had time to do laundry in awhile so I'll be doing that. But besides that - NOTHING! Ahhh I can't wait! I want to apologize to the friends who I've neglected the past week or so and will continue to do so for the next week or so. Honestly, I love ya but I'm so incredibly busy! I wrote a few emails while I was at work tonight but it's so not the same as chatting on the phone or whatever. So sorry friends! I'll be myself again soon! Besides that not much else is going on in my life. I feel like I should have more interesting stuff to write about on here but I really don't. OH! I know. So I recently saw the movie Freedom Writers (which is a good movie and I recommend you see it!) But I decided that I wanted to read the diary that they all made over the year in their class so I ordered the book off of Amazon.com. Well I got the book and on the packaging slip the seller had written "We forgot that the author signed this book! Good thing for you!" And the book had been signed by the teacher who had the kids write the diary - Erin Gruwell for those of you familiar with the movie or book. But it was cool because the little message was written out to a "Tammy" too bad not "Tami". So yeah that's super cool! Ahhh the little things that excite me! Alright well I guess it's back to work for another six hours and then off to teach guard for awhile oh yeah and then back to work and then teaching guard AGAIN and then finally the weekend! Cannot wait!

[Link] | Of course it's been awhile. Work's been busy...it feels like I've been there way too much lately. I've been doing a bunch of four hour shifts on top of my regularly scheduled hours so I'm at the hospital twice as much. The pay checks are nice though so I can't complain too much.
The weather here is started to get semi-decent. Or at least it was. We had a day or two last week of really nice weather. One day it was in the high 50's and the next day it actually got up to 70 degrees! The snow is mostly melted which is great because I don't like snow first of all and I like when it actually disapears this time of year. The really warm day was Tuesday - Matt had to go to sleep early because he had to work early on Wednesday morning so after I left his place I drove around for about 45 minutes with the windows down just enjoying the semi-warmth left over from the day. Besides the weather I felt really at peace with the world. It smelled like spring - fresh and there were even little buds on our lilac bushes out front. It was a great day! Now it's kind of cold again - in the 30's...it's supposed to warm up next week though. However I won't be here to see that - I will be in Florida with Matt!
We're going to Ft. Myers again just like we did last year. A whole week with absolutely nothing important to do. Not to have to think about work or responsibilities or anything is going to rock! Hopefully the weather cooperates. I've been checking the forecast every day and so far it had been good then this morning they changed it so that four out of the seven days that we're there, they have a good chance for scattered thunderstorms listed. That kind of sucks! Hopefully they'll change it again before we leave! Even so I'm still going to enjoy doing nothing!
I'm trying to find a statistics class to take onlien through some college. I'm thinking about starting grad school classes next year possibly. I want to go for a clinical nurse leader/specialist (one of the two) I still want to be able to do bedside nursing but also teach clinicals and know a little bit more about my area of nursing.
Hmm well I'm tired and have to get back to work...maybe I'll write more later

[Link] | Yes so I'm at work and have run out of things to do here...both my patients are sleeping...I already finished all my charting, checked my email a million times, been on facebook at least six times, made both of my patients cute little signs for their cribs, and made a list of things to get done at winterguard tomorrow. Woohoo I'm on a roll lol. So yes with all those things finished I'm on to updating this lovely journal. Life has been good lately. It feels like I've been working a lot lately...maybe that's because I have been haha. I've been working my usual three 12 hour shifts but then I've also been working at least one extra four hour shift a week to make up my time changes. So it feels like I'm at Children's a lot. Oh well....I'm making more money so it's all good haha. But work has been going very well lately. It's been busy again in the PICU, but I'm feeling way more confident in my nursing skills so that is a good thing! Gotten a few more admissions under my belt and stuff like that.
Went on a little mini vacation to Door County with Matt a few weeks ago. We stayed at the Birchwood Lodge where I stayed at with my family a couple years ago and remembered that it had been absolutely awesome! So we went and stayed there. We basically relaxed the whole weekend - we visited a Winery and ended up buying 12 bottles of wine!! They taste soooo good! We also went hiking at Pennisula State Park - the weather was nice too...it was about 40 degrees....good hiking weather! We ate at some really cute little restraunts as well. It was a great weekend! Plus our hotel room had a really nice jacuzzi in it! That was my favorite part I think!
Winterguard season is also in full swing around here. The girls had their first competition and got 6th place out of 13 in their class...which I am SO proud of them for! They beat guards that have been competing for over 4 years! Nice! And I still have a few things to add to their show so we should be great as the season progresses! Also the judges said they absolutely loved the show...so that's awesome too! I'm so happy that their first competition went off well! They have another competition this Sunday and it's a local show so hopefully lots of Greendalers will be there to support the girls!
Hmm other than that not too much has been happening...Matt and I are going to Florida in March which I am REALLY excited about! Well friends hopefully I will update again sometime soon!

Haha. Yeah so it's freaking almost Christmas!! Oh my goodness where did this month (and not to mention 2006) go??? It's ok though because I love Christmas! However I do have to work this whole weekend which kind of sucks. So let me give you all an update on my life lately (if anyone still reads this because I've been a big slacker and haven't been writing in it!)
Working at Children's is still going well. The unit actually hasn't been too busy for the last month so that's been nice. I think the beginning of December we only had 16 patients on the floor which was great! Now since it's the weekend of Christmas we again don't have too many patients - but I probably won't get to time change because I already did awhile ago so I think they have to go through the list of calling people off before they get to me again--bummer. Yeah it would be REALLY nice to get to time change tomorrow night but it's not going to happen. Oh well that's life. At least (hopefully) it won't be too busy! I think even more patients are getting transfered or going home tomorrow (yes home from the ICU - crazy!) so it should be good. So I'll be working tomorrow night and Christmas Eve into Christmas. I guess January is supposed to get pretty busy here at Children's so we have to pick up mandatory overtime for January through March. oh well - it's only 8 mandatory hours per month so that's not bad at all! Plus it's a little extra money! So I guess for the next couple days I should enjoy the quietness of the unit haha!
I'm really excited for Christmas this year because Matt is staying in Milwaukee at his apartment this year - his parents are going with his sister and her fiance to Florida. So he's going to stay here with my family for Christmas and then we're going to go to Green Bay for New Years with his family! Should be fun! Speaking of Matt - this past weekend he took me as part of my Christmas present to a nice dinner and then Nutcracker. We went to Pieces of Eight for dinner - it's right on the lake and we got a table right up against the window. It was so awesome! Plus he bought us a really nice bottle of wine! After dinner we had a lot of time left so we went out on their deck and they lit a little fire pit for us. It was soooo romantic! After that we went to see the Nutcracker. It was so beautiful! Anyone who knows me knows that I love dance - ballet especially. The costumes were amazing and the dancing was just awesome! I seriously think that was the best date I've ever been on! Matt's too good to me sometimes lol. We had a great time though. We also spent Sunday last week baking Christmas cookies. We went to my cousin's Christmas play at her church and then went out for lunch and then everyone came to my parents house to bake cookies! It was noisy and crazy but so much fun! I love spending time with my family! And we baked a bunch of really good cookies! I'll be posting pictures on my site soon so if you want to see they'll be on there! Besides that I only worked Monday of this past week so I've had the last three days off to Christmas shop and get everything cleaned for the family on christmas! Also on Tuesday night Matt and I went out with a couple of his co-workers to the Bosch. It was $1.00 tappers night so that was awesome! It was a lot of fun though, we have tentative plans to go out with them again on this coming up Tuesday.
Ok well it's time to do my 11 PM checks on my patients so I will post again soon with a recap of 2006! Yay!

[Link] | Soooo I'm at work and had a few minutes so I thought I'd update this thing since I haven't in forever!!!! Speaking of work, it's been going well. I have been off orientation for about a month now and things are going well for the most part. There are of course some nights when I feel so unconfident about my skills as a nurse, but most of the time I love my job! I still can't believe that I'm a full fledged nurse and on top of that working in one of the hardest units to work on straight out of school (sometimes I can't help but wonder what the hell I was thinking when I decided I wanted to work here!!)
The rest of marching band season went well. The kids capped the season off with a first place win at state-yay!! Their performance was absolutely amazing despite the awful rainy weather all night! Their encore performance after the AAAA bands actually was held inside because the field was so bad by that time of night! But no body really cared because we had won first! Now it's winterguard season which is pretty much my favorite! I already wrote half of their show and they know and can perform the first minute or so! We're off to an excellent start! I think overall they're entered into six competitions. I'm really excited to introduce all of them into the winterguard world!
Things with Matt and I are going well. He's been pretty busy with classes and stuff, but we've still been able to hang out a fair amount! We also had a great Thanksgiving - I worked the night before into thanksgiving so I was pretty tired, but we had lunch over at my Aunt's house with my dad's side of the family and then dinner at my Nana's house with my mom's side of the family. Saturday we decorated the house for Christmas and then had a big turkey dinner at mom's house and decorated the Christmas tree! I absolutely love the holidays! I am glad I'm not one of those people who gets totally depressed and crabby around the holidays. Although I am kind of sad this holiday - Alena is moving to Madison at the beginning of next year for another job. It's going to be weird not having my best friend here...even though we haven't had a whole lot of time to hang out lately, it's just nice to know she's close in case we need each other. But Madison is only an hour away so it'll be ok.
Ok well I guess I'm going to get back to work...I promise I will try to updat this more often!!

[Link] | Somehow I've been making my incredibly busy, hectic schedule fun...I don't know how but I make it work!
Marching band season is still in full swing around here. We got really awesome staff jackets that actually keep you really warm in the cold wind! My colorguard is doing awesome! This past weekend the band had two competitions. Their homeshow at Greendale (which we can't actually get ranked along with the other bands but we still get a secret score and had we been ranked we would have won-yay!) which the kids did awesome at! Sunday was the Wisconsin Lutheran show where there were only other AA bands there so it was like a mini-state competition. The performance was awesome! Our colorguard girls performed so well and everything went great! The colorguard ended up getting the Best Colorguard caption. It was so great to win that! It seriously made me tear up...as well as half the girls as well...aww! Besides the best colorguard caption there were three more captions - best visual, best music, and best percussion. Guess who got those as well?? Greendale!! Needless to say the band also won first place...we beat 2nd place by about 8 points!!! That is a ton of points!! It's so exciting...I hope this keeps the kids motivated so they keep growing for the rest of the season and give an awesome performance at state (which is only two weeks away!)
Annnnd at Children's I am off orientation! I had my first night on my own last Thursday and it went great! Tonight was supposed to be my first night on my own, but staffing sucked so bad last week they had to pull me a night early. Which really made no difference, but I was still nervous! I'm still going to be nervous tonight I'm sure. It's the first time I have to pick a patient without a preceptor's advice and all that! Yikes! I'm kind of excited too though because I know there is so much support from everyone on that unit. It really is a great place to work! We also have to go to PICU education class each Monday all day where we learn from different doctors, nurses, etc. the mechanics of everything. It's basically like a semester of class about critical care. The classes are actually really interesting and many lectures give you that "AHA!" moment where you realize stuff you've seen on the unit actually makes sense. Anyways, last night the orientation coordinators had a pizza party for us at Edwardo's (which we got paid for...to eat free food!) We got out of class early so a bunch of us went to JoJo's for some martini's...mmm were they good! I had the Razztini...it was so delicious! I am totally going back there again sometime with Matt! Edwardo's was a lot of fun too! I ended up winning a really cool Children's Hospital gym bag! Woohoo! Afterwards a bunch of us hung out and had a couple of drinks and talked with some people from our unit. It was a lot of fun! My co-workers are so great! And I've realized that yes ICU nurses are a little bit crazy, but we sooo know how to have fun haha! There is a bonfire and haunted house trip with nurses from the unit coming up on the 27th that is going to be tons of fun too! I can't wait!
I'm also trying to plan a mini vacation for Matt and I. We were thinking Door County maybe in November when it starts to get colder. There was this really awesome hotel that my family stayed in a while ago. They had a jacuzzi in each room and the showers were actual rooms with water that came down from the ceiling and from both walls and the room was huge!! Also it had a really nice fireplace too and decks on every room. I think it would be so great to go there! Hopefully it works out!
So yeah as you can see my life has been busy. And on top of that I have a cold. But somehow I've still been in a really good mood lately. Maybe because I realize that even though I am so busy that the things I'm busy with are great things and really make my life worthwhile. And I know how to make it all fun and into stuff I want to do. Hmmm I don't know, but it's all good!

[Link] | As I'm sure everyone can tell my enteries in this thing are quite sparadic (sp?) My life lately has been so crazy busy that I haven't had time for the important stuff let alone to update this thing! Oh well...I had some time now (when I should be sleeping cause I'm going to be tired at work tonight!) so I thought I'd update.
Things are going fairly well around here. My job at Children's is going well. I get off orientation in 4 days and I'm actually really nervous. I know people hear 4 months of orientation!! Wow that's a long time...but for being in an ICU setting...let alone one of the best peds ICU's, there is so much stuff to learn and master before you can care for patients on your own. And my 4 months is short compared to everyone else who has to go through the typical 6 months! The only reason I got 4 was becuase I was an intern for a year before becoming a nurse so I knew all the charting and med systems and other stuff as well. But I'm still really nervous to get off orientation. Plus, they opened 6 new beds upstairs as part of the ICU so things are going to get even crazier. Tonight is my first night with the whole unit being open...so it should be interesting. I just have a feeling that my first night off orientation I'm going to get stuck upstairs with some scary patient assignment. Oh well, that'll be life I guess. One good thing about my job is that I'm switching FTE's (which means the hours I work per week) I'm at a 1.0 right now which means I work 40 hours a week or two 12 hour shifts and two 8 hour shifts a week. Well next week I am switching to a 0.9 which means I only work three 12 hour shifts a week and have four days off! How sweet is that!? I am excited for that. The next four nights are going to suck though because I work 4 in a row and it's my last days on orientation so basically I'll be cramming everything else I need to know into these next couple of nights...greeeeat.
It also is the start of marching band season! Teaching colorguard is my fun job! I don't know if I mentioned this, but Katie and I have a colorguard of 26 girls this year!! Yeah that's a lot compared to our 15 we had last year! But it's turning out to be an amazing season already! The band had their first competition yesterday and ended up winning 1st place! And my colorguard took 1st in their class (by .5!! That's a lot in colorguard scores!) and they took 3rd overall in the competition, which is amazing seen as there were some AAAA bands and we're only a AA band! If that makes no sense to you, the more A's you have the bigger and better (usually) the band is...however there are some really sucky AAA bands, but most of the AAAA bands are amazing! So to have our colorguard score be up in the world of the AAAA bands is really kick ass. Especially for their first competition! So I think it will be an exciting season overall! Plus my girls are awesome and I so love working with them!
So between my two jobs and extra classes for Children's, I spend what little time I have left with Matt. We've been having fun together. We went to Green Bay a couple weeks ago for a friend of his family's wedding and we got to hang out with his parents, sister and her fiancee. It was a good weekend! Oh I also got a new car recently! It's a 2006 Toyota Corolla in silver. I love it! It's the best car I've ever driven, it's so much fun! And it's even better because I bought it myself! It's a good feeling when you can afford huge purchases like that all on your own!
I also was thinking last night and realized how much I miss college. I miss having tons of people your age around you. Going out the door and having a bunch of your friends right there. Not having to actually make an effort or get in your car and go somewhere to hang out with friends. I feel like I haven't seen Alena in forever, and we hardly ever have time to talk anymore. I also haven't seen Paula in a long time and might finally get to talk to her on the phone for a little bit later today. I really miss my best friends. The time just goes so fast and before you know it you realize you haven't seen or talked to them in weeks. It's kind of sad. And October is my busiest month of the entire year, what with working during the week and having a competition both days of the weekend. Hopefully when October and marching band season is over I will be able to see my friends again and have time for the things that I really want to do!

[Link] | Where is my time going? Seriously it seems like every second another week has gone by! Yikes! This next month...actually probably through October is going to be absolutely crazy for me. I start working nights tomorrow night (sad) and work four nights out of the week equalling 40 hours total as well as teaching colorguard two nights a week and then on top of that having to attend a football game with the band every couple weeks and then come October every weekend has a marching band competition. I hope I make it. Oh yeah and it's my last month of orientation at Children's so I really, really need to finish learning everything I need to know! Yeah I'm freaking out about that too. So my life is going to be kind of crazy for that time. So if I accidently forget to return some phone calls or seem a little crabbier than usual let me apologize in advance. I'm sorry. There haha. I'm such a jerk I know! But really it is going to be crazy...I really hope on top of all that I don't get sick or something becuase all that busy time will probably equal not enough sleep for Tami and that's not good.
On another note I just have to say how weird it is not to be going back to school this year. All of my friends who are still in college have all their AIM away messages up about the first day of classes, etc. and it feels weird not to have the same. I really don't mind being done with school because I am definitely happy about not having to worry about grades or passing the NCLEX again, but in a way I sort of miss school. The classes I had were actually really cool and it was nice to be able to go to a class and then hang out with friends and then go to another couple classes, etc. Oh well...it just feels weird.
Ok anyways....my life the last month has been fun! This past weekend Matt and I went to the Wisconsin Dells for Labor Day. When we got there we went on the Ducks tour...that was fun! Except the ducks let off this really deisel gas smell that is gross...but other than that the ride was awesome! We got to do some go carting and took the old time photos that I've been dying to do with Matt! You know the ones where they dress you up in old outfits and put you in front of some cool scenery? It was a lot of fun. And the pictures turned out really cute! Go to my picture site and you can see them soon! We also went Mini golfing the night we got there. We were going to go to Noah's Ark on Monday however it was raining and cold. So we ended up going shopping instead and did some horseback riding in between the rain. It was great fun! Overall it was a really nice weekend. Matt and I really like getting away every once in awhile and not having to worry about normal life stuff, even if it is just for two days or so. It's great fun! Well, I'm getting really tired so I think I'm going to head off to bed!

[Link] | Phew...it's been awhile! Let's see...I am officially a registered nurse now! I took my state board exam on Monday and found out I passed on Tuesday. I was convinced I failed because the test was so hard...but I guess I did better than I thought! It was exciting...I got my license in the mail today....awesome! It's so cool that I finally reached that huge goal that I have been working towards for so long! It's also a relief to know that I never have to take the NCLEX again...and that I can stop studying now. Yay!
I'm looking into buying my car. I got pre-approved for a loan through my credit union...apparently buying a car on a loan is the way to do it because car dealerships interest is really high! So yeah I'm gonna go that route. I went today and looked at cars. I had decided a long time ago that I wanted a Toyota Corolla, and I still do. They're awesome cars...great gas mileage, and they look cool too lol. I can't decide between a silver or a blue one though. So hopefully in the next few weeks I'll be able to make that purchase!
I just have to say that is so nice to finally be getting paid a real salary. Don't get me wrong I'm not money hungry or anything, but it's nice to be able to pay a good chunk of my student loans every month and still have a little bit left over for me. I recently bought some stuff to decorate...just some paintings and stuff. It was fun to pick stuff out and not be super overly-concerned about the price. Also, I'm trying to get a huge portion of my loans paid off so that when I do start a family I don't have huge amounts of loans hanging over my head.
Matt and I have been dating for a whole year already! It's hard to believe...although it feels like I've known him for my whole life! We recently went to Green Bay for his birthday and had a lot of fun. We stayed with his parents and hung out with some of his friends...visited his grandparents...went to Polka Days...and did a lot of other fun stuff. His mom is a great cook lol! We also went to dinner at his brothers house...man I love his house! It's seriously a log cabin style house. It is amazing! Matt's sister-in-law also started me on this Amish Friendship Bread. It's really good so if you want to know how it works let me know! Anyways...that weekend was fun. We're going up to GB again in September for a friend of the family's wedding. It should be fun. I'll finally get to meet Matt's sister...even though it feels like I know her a little bit because I've talked to her a few times on MySpace. She seems like a very cool person...it'll be fun to meet her!
Other than that...work has been going great. I love my job and nursing! I switch to nights the beginning of September. I should be done with orientation in early October! Yikes! My first night on my own will be very stressful...hopefully I will be ready for it! On Sunday Matt and I are going to go to the state fair. It should be fun! I am excited to eat lots of good (bad for you hehe) food, and shop in the expo centers. I absolutely love the state fair!! Yay! :) Ok well time to get going!
